A lithium in geothermal waters project
The Copper House Project, on land at Burncoose, Gwennap, is located in a historic mining area and has shown strong potential for lithium in geothermal waters.
The proposed plans will involve three initial phases to develop the project into a pre-production site for lithium, with a by-product heat evaluation plant. A range of surveys, including ecology, noise, heritage and land assessments are being undertaken by local experts and will help to guide the design of the project.
The project will require planning approval from the Mineral Planning Authority at Cornwall Council, along with relevant consent from the Environment Agency and other regulated bodies.
